PEOPLE in all corners of Fiji are celebrating the country's first gold medal win at the Olympics.
The gold medal was won by the Fiji men's sevens team, which thrashed Great Britain 43-7 in the final of the sevens competition at the Rio Olympics in Brazil this morning.
As the final whistle sounded to mark the end of the game, people took to the streets of Suva with the Fiji flag, dancing and running from one end to the other.
Some people even stopped their vehicles on the busy streets of Suva and got out with Fiji flags to join the celebrations, not paying much heed to the slight traffic jam they caused.
The celebrations will definitely continue into the weekend and the week ahead.
